At Stepnex Corporation, our commitment to delivering transformative solutions is reflected in our portfolio of landmark projects. Below are two of our signature initiatives, showcasing our ability to create meaningful change through cutting-edge technology and strategic partnerships.
Activity Tracking System (ATS)
Client: United States Agency for International Development (USAID)
Project Overview:
Stepnex Corporation partnered with USAID under the Capacity Building Program (CBP) to design and develop a revolutionary GIS-based Activity Tracking System (ATS). This platform was designed to monitor and report on U.S. Government-funded development initiatives across Pakistan's border regions. The ATS transformed project tracking, offering a web-based interface for comprehensive data visualization and analysis. The system enabled USAID and its partners to seamlessly track $750 million in projects, using tools like Google Earth integration for enhanced geographic mapping.
Over two years, the ATS captured data from over 8,685 activities across eight major projects, delivering unprecedented visibility and control. Its success in Pakistan led to its expansion across the country and into Afghanistan, making ATS an indispensable tool for regional development monitoring.
Key Features and Impact:
Captured and managed data for development projects worth $750 million.
Expanded from Pakistan’s border regions to nationwide implementation, including Afghanistan.
Produced over 300 detailed, data-driven maps for USAID and its partners.
Enhanced data visualization and real-time reporting to empower more informed decision-making.
This project dramatically improved USAID’s capacity to remotely monitor, manage, and evaluate complex development programs with enhanced transparency, precision, and accountability. ATS has set a new standard for how development activities are tracked and reported in challenging environments.
Land Record Management Information System (LRMIS)
Client: Government of Balochistan
Project Overview:
Stepnex Corporation led the groundbreaking Balochistan Land Management pilot program, digitizing land records across four districts to modernize land administration. The Land Record Management Information System (LRMIS) tackled longstanding governance issues such as high transaction costs, complex processes, and frequent land rights disputes. By transitioning from outdated paper-based systems to a fully digitized platform, LRMIS revolutionized how land records were managed, offering landowners and administrators a more transparent, secure, and efficient solution.
The project included an end-to-end digital transformation, incorporating comprehensive data scanning, GIS surveys for spatial accuracy, and the creation of data centers and citizen facilitation centers. This not only improved accessibility for landowners but also dramatically reduced opportunities for corruption and disputes, especially benefiting economically disadvantaged populations.
Key Features and Impact:
Developed a strategic plan for the digital transformation of land records, replacing antiquated paper systems.
Scanned and digitized vast amounts of existing land data while integrating GIS mapping for spatial accuracy.
Established data and citizen facilitation centers to improve accessibility and streamline processes.
Proposed legal reforms to sustain the shift to a digital system, ensuring long-term success.
Trained local staff and implemented rigorous authentication measures to safeguard the integrity of the system.
This scalable project significantly reduced land disputes, improved governance, and contributed to economic growth in Balochistan by promoting greater transparency and accountability. With its potential for broader replication, LRMIS serves as a model for modern land management and good governance across the region.
Through projects like these, Stepnex Corporation demonstrates its commitment to using innovative technology and strategic approaches to drive impactful and sustainable change. Our work not only addresses immediate challenges but also lays the groundwork for lasting development and governance improvements.
